Halifax Courier Business Awards – Winners 2010
The terrible weather conditions have made it fairly difficult for some to get into work over the last week. Now the worst of the weather seems to have passed and you’ve made it into work, I thought this recent news story about our recent Awards may be of interest.
A week last Thursday Portfolio Display was nominated for the Small to Medium Sized business in the Halifax Courier newspaper. Unexpectedly myself (Rob Walker) and my co director Garth Walker were also nominated by the judges for the Young Business Person of the Year. This was mainly down to the business seeing significant growth in a market that had been through a very difficult period.
The first award of the night was for the Small to Medium Sized business and there had been a lot of very high quality entries, so we were extremely pleased to have made it this far. We didn’t win but received a Highly Commended award, which was a great achievement for all the employees of Portfolio Display and they should be very proud.
Later in the night came the Young Business Person of the Year award. After coming runner up in the Small to Medium sized business I thought the same situation would occur again, due to the quality of the other nominations.
When Rob Walker and Garth Walker were called out as the winners (together as a duo), we were truly shocked and could not believe we had just won. This has to be the best achievement to date and we could not have done this without our great team at Portfolio Display.
