Understanding Foamex Printing and its Uses
Before we start explaining the uses for Foamex I thought we should explain what Foamex Board actually is. Foamex is actually a brand name for a type of material mainly used in the printing and display industry. Foamex is basically just expanded vinyl, that is lightweight, sturdy and used to either print directly onto or attach graphics to such as posters.
At Portfolio Display we can print onto many different thickness of Foamex Board, with individual sizes up to 4ft (1.22m) x 8ft (2.44m), which is the industry’s standard size. Multiple panels can be positioned next to each other to create much large Foamex displays with stunning results. We are able to print using different settings on our flat bed printers, depending on the type of work. Large volume Foamex printing tends to be put onto a high speed setting that reduces the cost for the customer, but still keeps a quality appearance. We can also print small volume runs of high quality displays, where a fine art setting can be applied. This is perfect for photographic displays where the fine detail is important for the client.
Foamex or Foamboard can be used outdoors or indoors making the material extremely versatile in all conditions. Foamex is easy to install due to its lightness meaning you can reduce the fitting costs by putting up the displays yourself. Printed Foamex displays are used mainly for outdoor signage and interior displays at all types of organisations. A good example would be at Universities and Museums for displaying information. Production lead times are quick on this product, so we have been able to produce displays for many urgent projects. Please talk to one of our sales or production team about how our Foamex printing can be used for your next display project.
